Make sure you check out The Avalanche, as well. It’s sort of an extension of Illinoise. Also, if you like Sufjan, here’s a girl that’s playing guitar for him on his next tour. She’s amazing.

Listening to the Late Junction show now to hear that Mice Parade song. Just a note, Hugh: that Sufjan Stevens track you heard isn't actually on Illinois. It's probably on his subsequent album The Avalance, which comprises outtakes and extras from Illinois. (I didn't catch the name of the track and the browser player won't let me rewind, but I know it's not on Illinois.) But anyway, Illinois is still amazing and Stevens is still fantastically talented. (Did you know he plays most of the instruments on his tracks himself?)

Sufjan is so phenominal, i named my cat after him. It’s armenian for ‘comes with a sword’ so i found it appropriate for a claw-bearing fur monster.

Sufjan Steven’s “Illinois” is a fantastic album — one of the best I’ve heard in ages. Go get it as soon as possible, and you won’t regret it.
