mice parade

I’ve just been blown away by a track I listened to on BBC Radio 3’s “Late Junction” show [The song appears about 6 minutes into it].
The track is called “Steady As She Goes”, and it’s on this album, by a band called Mice Parade.
Wow. I am so buying the CD.
[Update:] On the same radio show, I was also blown away by a track on Sufjan Steven’s “Illinois” album, which I’ve never heard before. Mind-blowingly talented, methinks [The song appears about 36 minutes into the show].
If you click on the “Late Junction” link, I believe the radio show will remain online until 10.30pm London time tonight. Worth a listen.

Late Junction is one of the BBCs hidden gems.
The online copy should be available for seven days.
You should also try “Mixing It” on the same site.
Sufjan Steven’s “Illinois” is a fantastic album — one of the best I’ve heard in ages. Go get it as soon as possible, and you won’t regret it.
Sufjan is so phenominal, i named my cat after him. It’s armenian for ‘comes with a sword’ so i found it appropriate for a claw-bearing fur monster.
Listening to the Late Junction show now to hear that Mice Parade song. Just a note, Hugh: that Sufjan Stevens track you heard isn’t actually on Illinois. It’s probably on his subsequent album The Avalance, which comprises outtakes and extras from Illinois. (I didn’t catch the name of the track and the browser player won’t let me rewind, but I know it’s not on Illinois.)
But anyway, Illinois is still amazing and Stevens is still fantastically talented. (Did you know he plays most of the instruments on his tracks himself?)
You’re definitely in “soundtrack mode,” Mr. MacLeod.
Total immersion is good for the creative soul.
You’ll also want to pick up Mokoondi by Mice Parade and get lost in tracks 1,2,3 very good.
Hugh–
Make sure you check out The Avalanche, as well. It’s sort of an extension of Illinoise. Also, if you like Sufjan, here’s a girl that’s playing guitar for him on his next tour. She’s amazing.
