a permanent state of stressed-out exhaustion

Started work at 9am yesterday. Quit work at 3am this morning. Getting all ready for Thomas’ trip to America [He leaves tomorrow].
I know the world I love, the world I want to belong to. Seems the price of membership is a permanent state of stressed-out exhaustion. Fair enough.

Hugh, this cartoon’s a real goody. Are you going to make it downloadable too?
I have vague plans to produce some high-res versions of my older work… exactly when remains to be seen.
Ain’t that the truth Hugh!
I like this card, especially the changing figures (less hair, more there).
Not to be too serious about it, but I might suggest titling it “The Three Ages of Complacency.” For if the three panels depict – or even parody, the ages of “slavery,” then what word would describe what African-Americans and other groups have lived through for many years?
Indenturement?
Self-enslavement?
Wage-slavery?
Awesome !!
it’s troo! it’s troo!
Permanent stressed out exhaustion… Yeah, I can relate.
On the other hand, as I’ve always said: relaxing makes me tense!
I must be doing something wrong. I’m in my 40s and still freelance. Maybe I just lack the courage to call myself “consultant.”
“permanent state of stressed-out exhaustion”
You have kids? Seriously though, great cartoon.
HA! I like this one.. Although I think us young corporate slaves are trying to get out quicker.. Am 24 and have just resigned from my first big big agency… Off to the land of consultancy.. brave? stupid? who knows.. just that I don’t want to die slaving over a 30 second film!! =) BTW as a nouveau planner, I really enjoyed your guide to creativity!
So what comes after consultant?
Great work Hugh (as usual)
““I know the world I love, the world I want to belong to. Seems the price of membership is a permanent state of stressed-out exhaustion. Fair enough.””
this, or a condensation, should be a cartoon.
By this timeline, after 50, one’s not even acknowledged. I know folks who wouldn’t argue with that interpretation.
