It is nice to see the widgets that pull the graphics, but I don’t see where they “will be paid for via text ads– Google, Yahoo, or whoever, with some sort of revenue split between me and the subscribers”. (You mentioned this in your original post http://www.gapingvoid.com/Moveable_Type/archives/002767.html)
In other words.… “Show Me The MONEY” !
