  1. I’ve found that in con­sul­ting, when I’m char­ging less per inter­ven­tion than the monthly salary of the per­son I’m pitching to, I’m trea­ted like a low-level emplo­yee. If I’m char­ging more, I’m trea­ted with res­pect. The trick to con­sul­ting hap­pi­ness is to inter­pret the clues and make an accu­rate guess as to the person’s salary.
