When Susanna left her comment, I quipped, “Wow, that should be a cartoon in itself.” So naturally, I couldn’t resist. Apologies to Susanna in advance

This is your best cartoon in a fortnight.
wonderful
Hey, I love it! But you spelled my name wrong. Now how does one make these cartoons?
oops. typo fixed. mea culpa.
i did a screenshot then imported it into photoshop…
LOL
Perfect. The New Yorker comic comment seals the deal.

Susanna,
Seth scopes & sells the concept then fleshes the idea out, Jason joins the dots, Scobles colorises & frames them while Hugh project manages it all!
This is great Hugh… I’ve actually heard that comment before about not liking any cartoons except “NEW YORKER” cartoons. oo000ooohh.. We’re so impressed with your prestige and intelligence.
Please.
It has occured to me before, and I’m only posting it here to sound smart really, because I think most of your readers already get this anyway… anyhoo, it has occured to me that advertising is a handy first line of filtering. You don’t just use it to get new customers, you also use it to avoid the potential clients that you’ll end up hating. If somebody doesn’t like comics, I wouldn’t want to do business with them.
Of course, I’m a cartoonist by trade.
Hugh, I think your stuff is so cool. I put the one you did for me in my magazine. Hope you don’t mind. I must tell you, as a New Yorker cartoon fan, you are top drawer and as good — maybe better — than the top New Yorker cartoonists. And I don’t give compliments all that much as most people will tell you. Please do a coffee table book.
Hysterical! Love it…
you are one lucky man that Susanna has a sense of humor…

Not being a fan of cartoons except for the Gaping Void cartoons they have no effect on me and certainly wouldn’t cause me to buy a product. In fact, I find them somewhat of a turn off. What is amusing to one person may be insulting to another. One must be cautious in using humor in advertising.
Thanks, Susanna =)
Yeah, I’m looking at some book ideas at the mo’…
The other thing I want to do is put cartoons on wine bottles. Namely, Stormhoek wine bottles. Limited edition production runs etc.
Methinks there’s a lot of opportunity with wine…
The cartoons on wine bottles idea gets my vote.
