Thinking about death may make you appreciate every day, but it’s still not a pretty thing to think about. Plus if you’re enjoying yourself too much to think about it then you don’t need to think about it to enjoy life anyway, if you know what I mean… anyway, just musing

Have you listened to Steve Job’s Stanford lecture? He makes a very good point, incidentally one supported by Taoism, that one should think about one’s own inevitable death daily. The realization that our time on this planet is finite is a great motivator to get off one’s arse and do something. At least it is for me.
A great exercise is to stand in front of the mirror, you can do this whilst shaving or brushing your teeth, and ask yourself: “If this was the last day of my life, would I be doing what I am about to do today?” If the answer is no too many days in a row, then it is time to change things.
