Obviously not. The traffic stats do not demonstrate that blogging is a more powerful traffic generator than being associated with something well-known as the association was a necessary condition for the free listing that led to the traffic spike. The implication that famous people could leverage their existing fame through blogging is hardly a revelation. Would Guy Kawasaki have been featured on the Typepad home page if he or his work had not been well known? Obviously not.
