take the money, gia

Gia’s current day job is writing a blog for a mainstream Hollywood movie. As every blog entry and photograph has to be approved by the PR-lawyer-financer-agent Hollywood micromachine before she can post anything, she sometimes finds the whole process extremely frustrating.
I think it’s great that Gia’s trying to forge ahead in this brave, new, unmapped world. Still, what works in Hollywood and what works in the Blogosphere are two different things. And that isn’t going to change any time soon.
Hopefully Gia will just take the money, do the best job she can, learn, and move on.

It really *is* extremely frustrating when I come up against the Hollywood machine. As bloggers we are used to just doing it and Hollywood is in no way shape or form set up to ‘just do it’.
All in all I’ve had a very good run of it. The vast majority of people I’m working with, both here in the UK and in LA, are completely on board and really into the production blog… but sometimes… sometimes the machine gets in the way…
Luckily I’m *not* a ‘just take the money’ kinda girl. If I won the lottery tomorrow, I wouldn’t change a thing. I’d still turn up for work in the morning… and *still* fight the battle against those stuck in the atoms and molecules mindset… :)
