crap, i cannot set up a new account because i am already a member of socialtext, and nor can i sign in to wiki wednesday because i am not a member of this site!
    ouch, help

Just signed you in, Lee. You can relax.

  3. Paul Farnell says:

Not sure if I can go yet, but how do I sign up so I can log in to the wiki page and see if it’s full yet?
    Am I missing something?

  4. shel israel says:

Is it not time to end your wiki ways? I had to ask at least once, Hugh.

  5. Jack says:

hi there. i just stumbled across your blog. i took pleasure in the way you artfully describe life, i love the simplicity, the bitterness and the integrity of your style, its quite brilliant.

woo, i know this is offtopic, but i have to say this
uhg wait, i just saw that the last post says about the same thing as i was about to say
    well, not really
but let me put it like this, i didn’t read any of your postcards (no javascript or whatsoever),
but your text about “how to be more successful at art blah blah” is really impressive
you’ve hit the spot, there was no point that i disagreed to
and there were quite a few which i just thought “wow” of
well, anyways, i suppose you get a lot of those posts per day
but i suppose there was noone who looked for “happiness” on google out of boredom xD
i hope there’ll be a post such as this when i am successful (and i sure as hell will be)
thanks for creating this, it’s an impressive collection of thoughts

  9. Round up 6 Sept

Yesterday was pretty much a write off with connectivity; to day a little better in that I have time to be in the pub and get connected. Far better than Starbucks! And tomorrow, it should get better at the rowing…

    Hi Hugh,
Thanks for writing about our new weblog! The comments have been closed for that entry so I am posting here. Love your sketches. Any chance you have any of pregnant women so we can post one on our blog?

What’s with the disorganized Wiki Wednesdays? In my city (Phoenix) there isn’t a time or place listed! Several other cities are the same way. It shouldn’t be promoted if it isn’t going to be run. What a trust-breaker.…

  12. hugh macleod says:

“Trust Breaker”? How very “buzzword” of you. Next, I suppose you’re going to tell me how “damaging for the conversation” it is?
The thing about wiki-generated events, is that they’re self-organising. If they didn’t organise in Phoenix (or wherever) it’s because the good people of Phoenix decided they didn’t want to organise anything, for whatever reason. And NOT because Ross was up to something squirly.
You could have organised something, and you chose not to. Your responsibility.
