maternity wear for women who love clothes

My friend Alistair Shrimpton is the British head of Six Apart, the blog software company.
His job is mostly to sell blogware to large commercial organisations. His biggest problem? Not enough case studies. Not enough British examples of companies using blogs successfully, compared to say, the Americans or the French.
But he has found a new champion. A company that sells “Maternity wear for women who love clothes”.
Seems one of the people who started it was once the chief designer for Victoria’s Secret, the lingerie company.
And Alistair convinced them to start getting into blogging as way of communicating with their customers. Human-to-human, as opposed to seller-to-buyer.
I think it’s a pretty neat idea. What say the ladies?
[WIKI:] I’ve set up a page on the wiki for “British Case Studies” i.e. companies that are using blogs to transform their businesses. Know any good examples?
[S.O.S.] This page on the wiki keeps on getting wikispam, which keeps on deleting the French and British categories. Does anyone know any good safeguard tricks?

  1. With our wiki, we finally gave in and made logging in a requirement to edit. Seems to have stopped 95% of the spam. I think 43 Folders had to do a similar thing. It can reduce the number of people who’ll edit, though, and it looks like most of your edits are from non-logged-in users.
I went looking for a Captcha thing for Media Wiki, but never found anything.

So … they want to sell blog software. And need working, successul blogs.
Which are not that available as it seems, because otherwhise they would be found aka successcull.
Why don’t they sponsor some blogs and their development? Make a competition like “enter why your business should receive a boost of attention yada … only restriction: you have to be a british company and we have categories set up to win “
? Where to win the free seminar on informing me and an the collegues of our company why it is no problem to have a successful blog and not have problems with external communication?
There is a great old IBM commercial I love dearly.
Two managers, one reading a paper:
“we need to get into the internet“
    “Why?“
    “Does not say why“
Help them to know to why. And then show them off as examples. :)

Great idea Nicole since Hugh and Alistair are going to be at Our Social World conference, which is about blogging for business, especially the UK maybe the could anounce something there.

  8. Lack of Case Studies of Companies Using Weblogs

Hugh writes about the challenge with getting businesses to adopt blogging when there aren’t many case studies about the practice.
