tom’s shears

shears.bmp
Tom Mahon , my bespoke English tailor friend, talks about the history of his 100-year-old cutting shears.

These shears were given to me by head cutter, Mr. Hallberry on his retirement, after forty years with Anderson & Sheppard. They were the original shears used by Mr. Sheppard of Anderson & Sheppard, which first opened its doors in 1905. Mr Sheppard gave them to Mr Hallberry, decades ago, when he retired. And doubtless I’ll pass them on to some young turk when my turn to step down arrives.

Seems like for a while the only people blogging were the usual suspects- techies, writers, journalists, computer geeks, consultants… having folk like Tom on board is good for blogospheric DNA etc.

    Yeah. Wilweaton.net and all that.
    I love his blog:
“We walked through the summer rain. Soaked to the skin, I held her close, and told her that I loved her. How come no one wants to hire me?”
Methinks actors and chopped liver are pretty synonymous, even at the “famous” level.

    The bespoke tailor who blogs

Last night, I was reading the posts on English Cut, the website of Thomas Mahon, bespoke Savile Row tailor, London (says the blog’s tag line). He’s in the tailoring industry (if I dare describe it thus). I discovered Mr Mahon’s
