arrived in paris safely

I arrived in Paris safely last night after an uneventful trip. Found my usual hotel in Montparnasse, slept for nine hours, had my morning cafe-creme and all is good.
I’ll write more later…

Good luck to you in Paris Hugh!
You sound happy there!
it sucks to be you.

those are two sentences i want to be able to write a year from now.
Good to hear you landed safely. I’m having withdrawal symptoms, so I hope you get back to blogging soon
Nice one mate.
I love that feeling of having arrived in a new city, a new county. Not as a visitor but to stay. For me, it changes everything, the knowledge of not being a visitor anymore. Walking around, taking possession. Mapping the place. There’s a barber I think I’ll frequent. A place where to get decent tea. A baker, a greengrocer, a fishmonger (ok, so I love cooking).
I still remember the cold, rainy February morning when I first arrived in London. Two bags and rucksack. Breakfast with a friend, Cafe Grove on the Portobello Road. The windows steamed up, huge cappuccinos in chipped china mugs.
There’s nothing quite like the magic of these first few weeks. Enjoy.
