72 hours

zzzzazzdggg02.jpg
Less than 72 hours from now I’ll be in Paris.
Too busy thinking about the move to really think properly about this weird new business idea I’ve been playing with. Hard to do everything.
I won’t be posting new drawings for a while– just reposting old ones, and doing the writing thing. Got to get set up in my new home first. Buy a new scanner etc. I have zero idea how long everything will take.
I hope you understand etc.
[TRIVIA:] You may have noticed I kind of adopted the wee fellow with the wings as my unofficial gapingvoid logo.
The guy can fly, but he’s still pissed off. Not a bad allegory for the human condition, perhaps.

Didnt realize it was a “move”, thought it was a longer visit. Cool. Best of luck.

Likewise — didn’t know you were actually shipping out? Best of luck, nicer than Newcastle, No?

So you gave your job up in Newcastle did you? Or were you a “resting” creative director? Good luck on your move, did you just decide to go on the spur of the proverbial moment?
It gives you something great to write about, are you living light? The Hemingway thing has great appeal. Write more about it, forget this branding yackety-yack and write about being a subversive writer in Paris. Nobody believed the ad-man swagger anyway y’know. Change like a chameleon and become a writer…

Now remember. In France, you can say what the hell you like in business, but until it is written down, it is worthless. Whereas in Germany and Japan, verbal promises that are clearly understood to be promises are morally almost more binding than the contract, which is something that lawyers thought up to keep non-Germans and Japanese to their word.
If you mix these two, then you have uhhhmmm… potential for misunderstanding.
I guess its the wiki thing, repuatation is everything. Hey,and Bon Voyage, mon brave…
