i remember an old mentor of mine talking about his traveling craft work days, driving across the country with a friend, hawking goods at bazaars and craft shows.
his buddy would sell cheap little pipes carved from wood for $5-10 a pop and make a killing.
he on the other hand would spend countless hours on these wonderful ink dot paintings and people would expect to pay a mere $10 for an original.  the pain on his face was visible as he recounted the resentment caused by market valuations of their respective efforts...
