Found a huge INTELLECTUAL HOLE in The Cluetrain Manifesto:

4. Whether delivering information, opinions, perspectives, dissenting arguments or humorous asides, the human voice is typically open, natural, uncontrived.

Wow. That’s the most UTTERLY WRONG thing I’ve ever read in my life.
They obviously don’t go to the right parties.

It’s the “subtext”, the true meaning in a human voice that you are referring to in your party example. And that may not be open, and is contrived, but it’s natural, right?

Probably used to be that way, before TV and magazine ads, and marketing concepts and alll that shit.
Back when there were markets in the plazas and main streets and all that .… befor emalls and big boxes and rebates and sexy girls and sardonic sound bites. You know, voices and reputations and stuff, so that the crappy stalls were all at the crappy locations where no one went.

They obviously didn’t go ANYWHERE, never mind the right parties!
