EGO cards

zzzbambam35.jpg
If you thought my Blogcards were a ripoff, you should see these EGO cards.
1000 cards for $1100.00. Eleven hundred bucks. But you do get your own built-in social network website to freebase as well. Ooh! Aah!
Is it just me, or does the whole social networking website thing seem as awash with lunatic wishful-thinkers as Dotcom did 5 years ago?

"Hugh's Daily Cartoon" Newsletter. A new cartoon sent out every weekday morning to your inbox [RSS version here.]. A wee chuckle to start your day off right etc.

I think the EGO cards are in fact a big rip off. But I don’t think social software is a revival of the dot com bomb. Orkut’s definitely interesting (unlike LinkedIn and other initiatives).

I’m not saying there’s not good stuff out there… just a lot of snake-oil for sale, too.

  3. In answer to your question about the social networking phenomenon: maybe, maybe not. Although it seems relatively faddish now, the potential is there for a smark cookie to make a buck or two. You may find this interesting.
I find the concept of Friendster rivalling Monster.com as an employee/employer referral service to be fascinating…

It’s a nice idea, agreed, Englsihman. That is, if Friendster can go from a free to a paid model, without losing its current critical mass.
I’d pay for Technorati. Not a lot, but I wouldn’t begrudge something.
