The receptions at CPR and Dig are pinpricks of lucidity in memory. Wicker Park is pretty much one continuous strip mall now. There is a good music scene, probably better. It feeds off the fancy restaurants where the galleries used to be. There are more clubs, both for DJ's and indie rock. Fellow computer music creators in the general area inspire me to stick around, surviving off temp. admin. asst. work since 9/11.
Dan and I took 4D design together at S.A.I.C. He's the first person I can remember meeting in Chicago. Hugh's cartoons are funnier and smarter and better drawn than ever. Glad to hear from Tina.

Hugh, how funny to find this on google!
So sweet to see it and know where you are, as just last week I visited Chicago and went to Rainbo with my friend Ellen Rosenbaum who was in from Dusseldorf.
To have Amy's message too was fun. Last I saw Amy was in San Francisco.
As for Dan I saw him last in Malibu, CA where he was rehabbing a house in the summer of '02 and taking a break from gallery life.
He has since opened a new gallery -dan hug gallery in Chinatown in LA.
I still have artwork of both of yours-Hugh an orange drawing on an old Vogue cover you and Dan did together.
Amy a photo of a birdcage with text.
Wicker Park was such a fun time then, lots of great memories.
Best

Hi Hugh,
I am writing because I too am an old friend of Dan Hug and Tina Seiffert's from wicker park days too. I don't know if we ever met, I was roommates with Jane Sakowski and then Meaghan Murphy and all my apartments were on Evergreen street (site of Quimbys book store etc). I like your sketches very much, quite funny. Were you also an SAIC kid? Are you in LA or NY now - its sortof unclear...
Now in Berlin 4 years, doing conceptual development work for identity & brand development etc I will be heading to LA in early May and would love to catch up with Dan.
Are you still in contact with him? Could you please pass my info along to him if you are? I realize this must be outta the blue... and don't expect you to give me his contact info directly. You are also welcome to contact me to reminisce about old chicago days in the photobooth at rainbow.
Cheers
Amy
